First Priscilla Bacon Hospice Golf Day raises more than £23,000
The inaugaral Priscilla Bacon Hospice Golf Day was held at the new Royal Norwich Golf Club course at Weston Longville on 31st October 2019. More than £23,000 was raised for our appeal to build the new 24 bed hospice.
21 teams representing businesses across Norfolk and Suffolk took part and the winners of the Priscilla Bacon Hospice golf trophy were a team put in by RG Carter, ably captained by James Carter.
The event was the first use of the Royal Norwich course for a charity event. Teams were able to play one of the premier golf courses in the UK, which was opened by Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter in September 2019.
Mark Nicholas, CEO of the £12.5 million fundraising appeal said, “Our first charity golf day was a stunning success. Our supporters were eager to play the splendid course at Royal Norwich, but more importantly their participation took us one step closer to making the new Priscilla Bacon Hospice a reality. The incredible total raised on the day will fully equip one of the single bedrooms in the new hospice. As momentum builds, we hope that other businesses will be inspired to support the appeal.”
