We are thrilled to collaborate with colleagues across Norfolk and Waveney on the Zest programme, which brings together children’s and adult services to create a pathway for smoother transitions into adult care.

Monthly drop-in sessions are taking place at either Priscilla Bacon Lodge, Tapping House, or the Louise Hamilton Centre, designed to give young people and their families a chance to meet those who may be involved in their care as they transition from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) to adult services. EACH staff will be there to offer support throughout.

During these sessions, you can connect with other families, join in some fun activities, and enjoy a chat over a cuppa. This pilot programme will run for 12-18 months, and we hope to expand transition support services based on the feedback we receive.

The sessions also give young people and their families an opportunity to help shape future services. There will be multiple ways for you to share your thoughts on how we can best support your journey.

Please note, these are self-care sessions, meaning that each family is responsible for their young person.

We look forward to welcoming you and working together on this transition journey!

Please come and join us for tea, coffee, cold drinks, and a selection of delicious homemade cakes. The proceeds will help us to enhance care for patients and their loved ones at Priscilla Bacon Lodge.

Entry to the garden costs £2.00, which can be paid into the honesty box in the entrance area. Please be aware these funds go to the Plantation Garden. Accompanied under 16s may enter for free.

One of Norwich’s great treasures, the Plantation Garden is a 3 acre Grade II English Heritage registered garden established over 100 years ago in an abandoned chalk quarry, 600 yards from the city centre. Also referred to by locals as Norwich’s Secret Garden, it’s tucked away beside the Roman Catholic Cathedral on Earlham Road. It’s an oasis of calm in Norwich city centre.

Find a huge gothic fountain, flower beds, lawns, Italianate terrace, ‘Medieval’ terrace wall, woodland walkways, 10 metre long Victorian-style greenhouse and rustic bridge. The garden is heavily wooded and provides a habitat for wildlife, making it a haven of peace and tranquillity and a glimpse into a bygone age.

Back for 2024 is The East Anglian Job weekend!

We are delighted that a percentage of the proceeds from this event are being donated to the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

On the Saturday there will be a treasure hunt, scavenger hunt, pub golf, Show and Shine, and an evening glow show.

On Sunday there will be a Mini Run leaving at 10:00am, with a stop at the Thursford Collection, plus a raffle, and awards for Car of the Show, Furthest Travelled, and Spirit of the Show.

“We had a fantastic time completing the 5K inflatable run, and even better, it supported the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity! The numerous obstacle courses made it feel like we weren’t running 5 kilometres. After our team regrouped at the finish line, we agreed that we would have to do this again next year!”

Shane Julian, 2024 participant

“We all had a blast, thank you to all who organised the event!”
