Barford Van Hire

Between March and July 2020, our seven charity shops had to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time, we set up a collection service for people’s unwanted items and were overwhelmed with the public’s response to this. Over 1,000 bags of stock were donated. Barford Van Hire kindly lent their support to the initiative by allowing us the use of one of their vans free of charge.

Amanda Periam, Director at Barford said, “‘Lockdown’ seemed to mean ‘Clearout’ to a lot of generous people, so we were more than happy to lend one of our Luton vans to collect loads of donations to restock the Priscilla Bacon charity shops, to aid the fundraising to build a new facility at the NNUH next year!
