Volunteer with the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity

We are looking for volunteers to support us with various administration tasks. Many can be completed remotely if you prefer, so you can support the Charity from your home.

We are looking for volunteers to help out in the lovely Friends Café in Priscilla Bacon Lodge, which is open for patients, staff, families, and members of the public to come and relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Café is open 7 days a week, from 9.30am-4.30pm, and we are looking for volunteers to come and support during these hours. All funds raised in the Café go to the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

The tasks in a charity shop are many and varied, as new stock is arriving all the time that has to be selected, prepared and displayed to the best advantage. No two days are alike, but we can offer you the chance to serve customers on the tills, process and prepare stock, undertake visual merchandising, and more.

We have collection tins placed in pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, hairdressers and more, all across Norfolk. This is a flexible role, so it can fit around your work and social life. It includes visiting businesses who already have a connection with the Charity, and also speaking to new ones to place additional tins.

Could you donate an hour or two of your time to collect donations in your local supermarket, garden centre or high street? It is a great way of meeting people in your local community whilst raising money for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

We have many different opportunities in and around the hospice to support corporate groups.

No driving is needed for this role; you will go out with one of our friendly Volunteer Drivers to support the delivery and pick up of goods from across all of our retail stores. It is a great way of seeing different communities and meeting the teams at our retail shops.

From helping to set up, to manning our stand and interacting with the public, to clearing down afterwards – every event is different, and there is a role for everyone. It is a great way of meeting people and having fun whilst raising money for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

Garden Volunteers are integral at Priscilla Bacon Lodge. With over 8 acres of land, we are looking for volunteers to support the vision of maintaining our gardens and keeping them beautiful for our patients and staff to enjoy. Supported by our Head Gardener, we hold small volunteering sessions which are currently twice a week.

We launched our House Clearance Service in May 2024. Customers can choose us to collect their household contents, which we separate either to sell in our charity shops, recycle, or safely dispose of. The House Clearance Volunteer role involves helping our friendly team with this process and you will need a good level of physical fitness to effectively perform the duties required. Hours are flexible.

Assist our friendly online sales team with the photographing and listing of goods for sale on various online platforms, such as eBay. No experience is required, but a love of online shopping would be beneficial!

Donate a few hours of your time a week to help us move stock between our Drayton warehouse and charity shops around Norfolk. It is a great way of meeting people in your local community whilst helping to raise money for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

Working in our warehouse involves sorting donated goods, dealing with Gift Aid stock and basic administration. This is a varied role, where no two days are ever the same. The warehouse team are a friendly bunch that all enjoy the social aspect of their roles. You will meet multiple staff members and other volunteers during your time with us.
