Comfort Blankets - Knitting Together a Community of Care

We’re delighted to launch this special project in partnership with Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers to support patients at Priscilla Bacon Lodge.

We’re inviting local knitters and crocheters to create colourful handmade squares and blankets that will bring comfort and warmth to patients at the Lodge. These will help to bring a homely touch to their surroundings, and mean so much to the patients and families who will receive them.

Whether you knit a single square, or many, or even a full blanket, you will be helping us to knit together a community of care.

How To Get Involved

Please download our Comfort Blankets Information Pack below. This explains what size and colours we’d like you to make your squares or blankets.

There is no set deadline, as this will be an ongoing project for the foreseeable future, so feel free to knit at your own pace.

Completed work can be dropped off or sent to Priscilla Bacon Lodge, or taken to several collection points listed in the pack.

“Our experience of being gifted this blanket was incredible.

It was so uplifting and made such a huge difference to my memories of those last days with Dad.”

Priscilla Bacon Lodge Knit and Natter Group

Starting on 4th June 2025, our new Knit and Natter Group will take place on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:30am – 12:30pm, at The Friends Café inside Priscilla Bacon Lodge.

If you’d like to support our Comfort Blankets project whilst attending the group, we’d be thrilled to have your help. You’re also very welcome to bring along your own knitting or crochet projects.

There is no need to sign up, please just come along and join us for a cuppa and some friendly conversation. We look forward to seeing you!
