Persimmon Homes Anglia raise over £8,000

Fundraisers at the Persimmon Homes Anglia office smashed their target of £5,000, after team members went the extra mile with their fundraising efforts last year. The team pledged to raise the funds, knowing that Priscilla Bacon Lodge has touched the lives of so many people across the county.

Over the course of 2023, they organised dress down days, bake sales, wild swimming challenges, and a team took part in the Tour de Broads on the hottest day of the year, collecting donations and sponsorship.

Jorden Knell, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes Anglia, was one of four team members to take on the 100-mile trek – however he really did go the extra mile, as he clocked up 101 before crossing the finish line! The cyclists raised £5,900 through sponsorship to add to their funds.

Debi Sherman, Head of Planning, swam miles in open water over several months to further boost the total. A donation was also made from the Persimmon Homes Community Champions fund, to add to the fundraising efforts and take the total to £8,378.

Michelle Baker, Managing Director, recently joined Jorden and Debi on a visit to Priscilla Bacon Lodge, to see the facilities on offer to patients and their families at our new state-of-the-art centre.

Michelle said: “Having seen first-hand the work the team at Priscilla Bacon Lodge do, we are delighted that we were able to make such a generous donation and enable them to further expand their services. They work with passion and determination to enrich care for patients and their families. The Charity coordinates a comprehensive bereavement service and the team have plans to develop additional complementary services to help patients and their loved ones. “I am incredibly proud of the team at Persimmon Anglia for their dedication to fundraising for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity, they have shown a real determination and drive to not only reach their goal, but far exceed expectations.”

Amy Wright, Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity, said: “We are so grateful for Persimmon Homes’ donation, and the fundraising they have done. The money raised will go towards vital support services, as we start our next chapter in 2024. We are looking at arranging an extensive bereavement service, and extending our catering facilities.”
