This popular horticultural event, now in its 17th year, takes place at the beautiful monastic site at Creake Abbey, just south of Burnham Market in north Norfolk.

The event has a loyal following of gardening enthusiasts who flock to enjoy the exciting and unusual plants on offer, all at excellent prices. Visitors will find the full range of herbaceous perennials as well as grasses, bulbs, shrubs and climbers from specialist garden nurseries across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. It is possible to buy direct from the nurseries or pre-order specific plants with collection on the day. As always, the public is encouraged to take full advantage of the advice and inspiration on offer from the region’s leading plantsmen.

Entrance to the event area is £5.00 per adult, with all proceeds coming to the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity. There is no charge for under 16s. Dogs on leads welcome, but must not be left in cars.

Refreshments on the day will be provided by a stunning line up of carefully selected Norfolk street food and catering businesses alongside The Barn Café, as follows:

Owie’s Big Black Piggy Porkers – hot bacon or sausage baps and pork burgers
The Duck Truck – the famous duck wraps with cucumber, spring onion and hoisin sauce
Coffeesmiths – Artisan coffee, tea and snacks
The Hope Coffee Co – Barista coffee, tea and hot chocolate
Traditional Norfolk Ice Cream – Cones, ice creams and tubs from the Lakenham Creamery

Visitors may also browse the wares and services of Creake Abbey’s resident independent shops and services free of charge.

For the third year running, we are delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of funds raised at the Great Ellingham Craft & Gift Fair.

They have lots of stalls booked in, selling handmade goodies as well as hot and cold food.

Please head along and show your support to this lovely event. You can find more information on their Facebook page here.

VW FAB festival is organised by Terriann and Mark Vincent, and the FAB Family Crew. It’s a family-based weekend and they describe themselves as “Back to basics, one big old school family festival.”

They chose to fundraise for the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge at their 2019 event, and after raising more than £3,000, we were thrilled when they selected us as their permanent chosen charity shortly afterwards.

This year’s event celebrates 10 years of the festival and for 2023 only, day visitors are only permitted on Sunday 27th August. Last entry is 2pm.

Activities at the festival include the very popular “Retro Pushbike Show” and “Shine & Show”, along with a “Scrufts” dog show and a “Dub Tucker Trial”.

There will be a raffle in aid of the new Lodge, and we will be there all weekend with a stand of activities and games.

Camping pitches and Advance Sunday day tickets are now SOLD OUT. Entry is £10 on the gate, or free for under 16s.
