We will be hosting Music in The Friends Café sessions every month, and these are kindly being organised by Eve Garrod, a Ward Volunteer.

This music session will be approximately one hour long, so why not pop in and join us for lunch and music?

It is free to attend.

Our first artist is a singer called Arianne Foley, read all about her below:

“Hey there, I’m Arianne Foley, and I come from the beautiful valleys of South Wales. I have over a decade of experience in the music industry, from working with bands, cover gigs, session work and work abroad.

Growing up in South Wales, I was very lucky to be part of a large diverse music scene in Newport and Cardiff, I was surrounded by incredibly talented musicians from the age of 16. They mentored me, inspired me and influenced my sound today. I’ve never really been able to define one singular genre I fit into, but if I had to, I’d say I have developed a delicate blend of rock, blues, country, and folk elements in my music. I hope my music will leave you feeling like you can take on any problem, no matter the size.”

The New Sheringham Singers have been kindly supporting the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity as their charity of the year for 2022/23.

This is the third performance at which they are raising funds for us and we are so grateful for their support!

Please go along to support them as they sing Christmas Carols in Morrisons, Cromer, and pop a donation in the collection tins if you can!

All are welcome to a service to connect, sing, give thanks and to remember, as our annual event in the beautiful Norwich Cathedral returns for its fifth year.

There will be contributions from staff members, volunteers and Trustees from the Priscilla Bacon ‘Family’ and Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. The Chamber Choir of Norwich Lower School will lead the music.

As we reflect, remember and look to the future, please join us to pay tribute to Priscilla Bacon Lodge and to support our work to improve hospice care for the people of Norfolk.

Complimentary drinks and mince pies will be available after the service.

This event is free of charge and no ticket is required, however it would be extremely helpful for catering purposes and the smooth running of the event, if you could e-mail events@priscillabaconhospice.org.uk to let us know you will be attending.

There will be a collection for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity during the evening, and a stall of Christmas cards, books, and other small items for sale.

VW FAB festival is organised by Terriann and Mark Vincent, and the FAB Family Crew. It’s a family-based weekend and they describe themselves as “Back to basics, one big old school family festival.”

They chose to fundraise for the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge at their 2019 event, and after raising more than £3,000, we were thrilled when they selected us as their permanent chosen charity shortly afterwards.

This year’s event celebrates 10 years of the festival and for 2023 only, day visitors are only permitted on Sunday 27th August. Last entry is 2pm.

Activities at the festival include the very popular “Retro Pushbike Show” and “Shine & Show”, along with a “Scrufts” dog show and a “Dub Tucker Trial”.

There will be a raffle in aid of the new Lodge, and we will be there all weekend with a stand of activities and games.

Camping pitches and Advance Sunday day tickets are now SOLD OUT. Entry is £10 on the gate, or free for under 16s.

For more information and updates, please see the VW Fab Fest Facebook page.
