December collections add up to £6K

Collections taking place around Norwich during December added an impressive £6,000 to our appeal.

Staff and volunteers were out and about at various supermarkets, garden centres and fairs collecting donations. We were also lucky enough to be chosen to benefit from collections taken at the EDP Carol Service in St Peter Mancroft Church and the Salvation Army’s ‘Carols by Candlelight’ service.

At Sainsbury’s on Queen’s Road in Norwich, we were joined by the fabulous BroadBeat choir, who serenaded shoppers with festive tunes.

Staff from Fitness Space gym in Cringleford, joined us outside Notcutts garden centre to attract attention with a cycling challenge. They cycled the same distance as Peddar’s Way on a static bicycle – an impressive 150K – in one day. Also adding to the atmosphere outside Notcutts were Kelsey and Bryony Allen, who played carols on cornet and baritone to entertain shoppers. The two schoolgirls sadly lost their Grandmother last year and she received care from Priscilla Bacon Lodge.

During 2019, a total of £ 5,335 was raised in over 250 collection tins held by various businesses and groups all over Norfolk.

Thank you to everyone who pops their spare change into our tins, all those small amounts really do add up!
