Notcutts donate plants to Priscilla Bacon Lodge

Priscilla Bacon Lodge in Norwich, the existing specialist hospice for Norfolk, was delighted to receive a donation of plants from Notcutts Garden Centre in time for the Easter weekend.

With the country in lockdown and as a non-essential business, Notcutts Garden Centre in Norwich had to close their doors at one of their busiest periods. However, they wanted some of their stock to help make a difference during the current Coronavirus pandemic.

Richard Greenacre, General Manager at Notcutts Garden Centre explained: “It is such a shame that our beautiful plants cannot be sold at the moment, so we wanted some of them to go to a good home. We have previously raised funds for Priscilla Bacon Lodge, so thought that 300 ‘Pink Kisses’ would help to brighten up the Lodge for the patients and the staff who work so hard to provide the best end-of-life care”.

Becky Cooper, Head of Palliative Care Services for Priscilla Bacon Lodge, said: “On behalf of everyone at Priscilla Bacon Lodge and the Colman Site, I would like to say a massive thank you for this wonderful donation, which is appreciated by all staff.”

This kind donation follows the launch of our ‘Planting for Priscilla’ online gardening competition last week. The competition will be judged by writer and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, with some fantastic prizes donated by Jarrold. Categories range from window boxes to large gardens and entries are welcomed from beginners and amateurs, to green-fingered enthusiasts.
