Householders Urged to Spring Clean for Charity

We have taken the difficult decision to close all seven Priscilla Bacon Hospice charity shops until further notice. The shops had remained open to serve our local communities, but in response to Government recommendations and with the health and wellbeing of staff, volunteers and customers in mind, the decision has been made to close.

However, we are encouraging people to make good use of more time at home by having a clear out of unwanted goods and donating to our shops when that becomes possible.

Mark Nicholas, CEO, said, “Donations to our shops make a vital contribution to the progress of the campaign and every donation, large or small, takes us closer to making the new hospice a reality.

There is no doubt that the closure of so many businesses throughout Norfolk will mean that employees are now at home, following guidelines on social distancing and waiting for the businesses at which they work at to re-open. So there has never been a better time to Spring Clean.

We would like to encourage families to tackle that bursting loft, overflowing garage, bulging wardrobe, out of control playroom and anywhere else you’ve been promising to clear out for some time and get to work! Any items that they no longer want or need can then be bagged up ready for donation to the appeal. We will reveal details of a collection scheme as soon as the health situation improves.”
